Quote of the Day

What We Did Today
I'm going to try to start writing here more often again. I was looking back at the old "Six Little Olive Plants" the other night, and it was nice to read all the things I had forgotten about. So here goes.......
I felt horrible today, as I got hit with a sinus infection sometime yesterday afternoon. So, we didn't get as much school done as I would have liked.
Elias and the Middle Boys started the day off with some Medival crafts. They made little felt sacks that tie around their waists and then they wanted to make beauty patches! We read that they were the style in Europe 300 years ago. So they cut shapes out of paper and glued them on their faces with a paste we made of flour and water.
Then we finished history, reading, and Bible for the week and skipped everything else for the day. Josiah and Jarrett are doing Sonlight Core C, which is a general overview of history.
We took a lunch break for some chicken soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Then I got in a few hours worth of school with Devin this afternoon. He's studying Algebra for the first time. So I helped him with that and I got a lot of his work corrected and grades recorded.
Well, I'm off to clean the school room and fold my fifth and final load of laundry for the day!

So, about three weeks ago we had a church picnic on Sunday evening. Monday morning an e-mail gets sent out - someone's kid left their shoes at church - Sketchers (I'm thinking tennis shoes.) I read it out loud to my family and started laughing. Who's dumb kid could leave their SHOES at church? Can you see where this is leading?
Tonight I was getting the boys clothes ready for the morning. As I ironed I thought about the fact that Jarrett's church shoes were missing for the second week in a row. All of a sudden I realized - they were Sketchers brand! Ahhh, the dumb kid is mine!
Anyway, I'll redeem his reputation with a Cute Kid Quote. The middle boys have been studying botany in their enrichment classes. Everywhere we go, they've been collecting seeds to plant in their light hut we built. Today, Jarrett found a sesame seed on his bagel.
"I found a bagel seed! I'm going to grow bagels!"
